Delaere supplied 4 bigbag filling stations for an Activated Carbon producer in Belgium.
Challenge
A first major challenge was the request to enable the filling of both single and double stacked bigbags. Delaere installed EV2L type filling stations which are gross weighing filling systems with height adjustable filling head. The filling head is height adjustable by means of hydraulics.
The bigbag is connected to the system by the operator working on the operator platform. The filling head with linear hook system is lowered to an ergonomic height for the operator to fixate the bigbag loops and filling spout.
Another important requirement from the customer was not to have the loadcells installed on the floor level so these can’t be damaged by forklift movement during pick-up of the filled bigbags. Because of this demand, Delaere integrated the load cells in the filling head which implies that the bigbags are being filled and weighed in a hanging manner. The “sagging” of the bigbag being filled is considered in the design to make sure there is no impact on the correct weighing of the bigbag.

The result is 4 high performant bigbag filling stations that are custom made according to the specific needs of our customer.
The robust construction of the machine ensures bagging operations for the next 20 years.
